Morning glory clouds an amazing phenomenon

Morning glory clouds an amazing phenomenon. It reminds me of the morning glory flowers which blossom in the morning. But what Allah's creations is this? Yes of course He is proving His prowess to His creations.

Have anybody ever explain how this phenomenon happens? It can stretch up to 966 km long and move at the speed up to 57 km per hour. Normally it will cause hardship for small planes to maneuver.

Some explanations say that it happens from an advancing storm which cause hot air to rise up and cold air below will form clouds. This happens throughout the stretch uniformly. Because of the advancing storm winds, air inside the clouds circulates which leads to the cylindrical formation of the cloud.

The morning glory cloud or rolling cloud is said, will not end up to turn into tornado because it is detached from the huge cloud formation called cumulonimbus

What an Allah's creation! Where normally can you encounter this kind of phenomenon? Place called Burketown, Queensland Australia. There are only 200 residents dwell there.

Kelong Lukut Adventure

Finally the most awaited time has come. I'm back fishing. 

After resting up my gears for a year, deep in my store room, I'm back now with my new adventure of KELONG LUKUT.

Initially the trip was unanimously agreed by about 8 people to Kemaman, Terengganu. Sadly, just a few days before the trip only 3 remained and geared up for the trip. Since there was only 3 we change the location to KELONG LUKUT

What is interesting about KELONG LUKUT? not much lar... :) (Find Kelong Mamud on Google Maps)
 This probably the location of Kelong Lukut. The 'X' mark indicates the not exact location of Kelong Lukut :) (forgot to take the latitude and longitude of the location using my GPS Phone). In fact there are two kelongs around the area. Kelong Tepi and Kelong Tengah. We decided to go to the Kelong Tengah altough earlier decision we decided to go to Kelong Tepi. We were too influenced by a man called "cikgu". He told us that fishing frenzy (siakap) was happening at Kelong Tengah. So I didn't know either by instinct or by devine intervention we did not argue and followed him to Kelong Tengah.


At around 4.39pm we arrived at the location. We straight away took off our shirt to expose our muscular body and started the setting up. The 'cikgu' was doing his stuff setting up bobby trap at multiple strategic locations on the kelong. He said the booby traps are used to capture 'tongkol' which ultimately be the lure for 'siakap'. For about half an hour later Din caught our first catch of the day using 'apollo techniques' some pelata and juvenile geropoh. Soon after that we were having fishing frenzy time. Alas, all the catches were only small gerut-gerut. 




Night fishing time was so unpleasurable. We got lot of nibbling. No hard hookup. Only tiny fishes espeacially gerut-gerut by using 'perumpun' as bait. Only after 10pm, I had a strong pull after leaving my gear tied up to a live 'pelata' bait for an hour. It was a '3 feet' malong hooked up after eating the whole 'pelata'. That was the only big catch for the night. 


We were not surprise with the cold welcoming situation we encountered here. There were a lot of graffitti of frustrations from previous visitors on the kelong wall. Hence, Hadi was saying 'silap tak bawak liquid paper. Boleh gak curah perasaan kat sini' (it was really unfortunately that we haven't brought along liquid paper. Perhaps we can also express our frustrations here)

I was the last to go to bed (even there was no comfortable bed there) Hadi was the first. Followed by Din. Woke up at 5am in the morning and realizing not even a single hookup. 

The following morning, sea level was very shallow. We ended up chatting and eating the remains of rations that were left untouched the night before. We should've had eaten all those last night. It was pity for us to waste our energy waiting patiently for big fish the night before and ended up starving.

The moment we packed and waited for the fetching boat to pick us up. Cikgu finally got the souvenir for the trip. It was 500g Talang (queenfish). Hmm ok lah...at least


Sayonara!! Tak mau p lagi la... macam buang masa je....atau aku yang tak skillfull. hehe

Visit Sabah. Memoirs of Gunung Kinabalu



Just back from Sabah! What an experience.. The last state in Malaysia that I have ever visited. Our journey started on 24th April 2009 and back on 26th April 2009. The memoirs of Gunung Kinabalu linger on.To cut long story short. This is the chronology of our journey in Sabah "Land under the Wind" (sigh! lot of wind ma..my body produce wind a lot also...:D)

24th April (1130hrs) - Departed from LCCT Sepang

In the Air Asia (boing 737 i guess) before the take off. I was waiting for red-jacket 
stewardess to welcome me. Some people told me, how "hospitable" all the Air Asia stewardess are ;)

(Humaira) slept all the way from Sepang to KK. The ni
ght 
before myself and my wife 
couldn't  even sleep because Humaira had problem sleeping. Due to unknown reason as if she knew that she will be boarding the plane when the morning comes. I thanked God for that misrable sleepless night because if she was awake in the plane, I didn't know what will be going to happen. 




24th April (around 1330hrs - 1400hrs) - Arrived at Kota Kinabalu Airport

 touch down at Kota Kinabalu. It is an island nearby Labuan.

24th April (around 1500hrs) - Settle down at a free government quarters. (This was really a cost-effective trip)

After heavy meal at the seaside restaurant. We both took some times to take short nap.  My wife apparently noticed how look-a-like we are.

"Like father like daughter"

Some parts of me needs to be sensored. Or else this will be distributed over the Net.

She was as active as I am. :) that what make my wife jealous.

25th April (around 0800hrs) - In search of Mount Kinabalu (Gunung Kinabalu)











Summary of our trip here. (my fingers feel numb already) We hit the road in the morning and headed straight to the hotspring (for "mandi' bah, for what else). Then we had our lunch at a nearby restaurant serving local delicacies. 

More pictures will come after this. Don't have much time to do this. My broadband cause me headache. 


After stuffing our tummy with Sabah local delicacies we headed to foothill of Gunung Kinabalu. Based on my GPS phone we were at the 1200 meters above sea level. We had a short stint there just a moment to capture some pictures of Asian's proud highest mountain as the background. After that we headed home to close the agenda for the day.

26th April (around 1900hrs) - Prepare to set home


The day began with our search for morning breakfast. At last we settled down at Mamak Restaurant in KK. We had to go through morning market to reach there. Well the morning market I would say, quite interesting. Loads of items there. Kain batik, locally made handcrafts, anything you name it, you can find it there.


It's sad to tell you guys. Due to the addictiveness and madness that we had at our last place which I mentioned earlier "hyper-madness" shopping attraction in KK, I've forgotten to take some pictures of that place. By the way, to tell you guys... Pasar Philiphines in KK is the best ever. We only managed to be there for 1.5 hours. That was short and ridiculous shopping period. Of course not for me...my wife absolutely.
